Lakeridge Health is Building for the Future…

  • Post comments:0 Comments

Lakeridge Health is evolving as a regional system of acute care and wants to ensure it can meet the health care needs of the communities it serves – today and well into the future. To help guide how and where health care services will be delivered over the next 20 years and beyond, Lakeridge Health is embarking on a Master Planning Process.

This is a formal process to identify what programs and services are required to meet the needs of the community over the next 5, 10 and 20+ years and where those services should be located. It also results in the creation of a blueprint for construction and development of the hospitals and other facilities needed to deliver those programs and services.

To help shape the development of the Master Plan, Lakeridge Health is inviting community members to participate in a public survey and Telephone Town Halls. The input and feedback
gathered through the survey and town halls will inform the development of Lakeridge Health’s Master Plan.

To ensure the Master Plan reflects and meets the diverse needs of the growing communities it serves, it is important people living and working in Durham Region have the opportunity to provide input about the way acute care services are provided today, and inform how those services can be improved in the future.

The public survey will be available until March 11, 2018, with Telephone Town Halls planned for late-February and mid-March. Phase 1 of the public consultation will run until late March with the full Master Plan completed by early 2019.

Lakeridge Health is a five-hospital health system with hospitals in Ajax, Bowmanville, Oshawa, Port Perry and Whitby and more than a dozen community health locations across Durham Region. This is an exciting opportunity for our community to provide input that will help shape the future delivery of acute care services across our region.

Thank you in advance for your support.
